Do you gentlemen think this is an outline? Not much is happening here; seems whoever did this just put a few things down and called it a day. Much like the essential questions, and the speech page, very little thought, or effort went into any of this. I know the 9th grade English classes (Kilpatrick and Kenney) spent an extensive amount of time on OUTLINING...I spoke with them both. If there were questions, I was around to field any questions and to help guide you along. I question if there were games being played, or other ways of fooling around for this project!

1. Why did a united Italy make sense to those who favored unification?
The people shared a common language and history, and it also would stimmulated the economy.
OK, but there could be more elaboration here. Too simple, very little thought or explanation put into the answer.
2.What were the obstacles in the way of Italian unification, and why might these obstacles make unification difficult?
Trying to get other nations to join this motion and getting the attention of The Congress of Vienna because without these allies, it would make unifing very difficult.
The text book (p. 338 - first page of Ch. 10 section 3) has a bolded sub-heading titled OBSTACLES TO ITALIAN UNITY which has every answer you would need for this. Not sure how this could be missed.
3.What steps did the Italian leaders take to unify, or ignite nationalist feelings, in the people?
They encouraged change, made the people see the better side of the change they the italian leaders wanted.
No research illustrated here at all. Anybody could have written this response without looking at any text/information source. It is simply a generic answer with zero substance.
4.What military steps were taken in order to free Italian people from oppressive rule?
They recruited 1,000 red-shirted volunteers. Weapons and ships were supplied to attack and control sicily. They took control of Sicily, and went to Napales. Cavour sent troops to deal with Garibaldi. The troops Cavour sent linked up with Garibaldi's troops.
Good
5.What nationalist groups were formed and created in order to strengthen the unification movement?
Giuseppe Garibaldi's "Red Shirts", Victor Emmanuel II, Camillo Cavour
Is this an answer, or did someone put this down in the hopes of coming back and finishing the response??? No mention of Young Italy?
6.What challenges did a united Italy face when they finally were brought together as a nation-state?
...
and rural.
What about the tensions that were mounting after the unification process? Liberals/radicals were upset, protesting/rioting against the new monarchy (see p. 342 in text)
7.What role did Napoleon play in the Unification of Italy?
...
that war. Good
8.Explain the viewpoint of the liberals and the conservatives with regards to Italian Unification.
Many the liberals and conservatives were not happy they ended up moving to the United states.
Is this even an answer at all, or did someone just write something down to make it look like an answer? I looked back in the text to find anything about liberals AND conservatives fleeing for the US, it wasn't in there.
9. How does Nationalism unify the people of the Italian States?
People thought the nationalism made sence it made practicle economic sence.
Once again, this is not an answer. This is just trying to make it look like an answer (even that wasn't done very well), because the wording doesn't even make sense!

Gentlemen,
The directions clearly call for a much more in-depth speech. The one provided directly below is clearly copy and pasted, so I am assuming you are not trying to pass this off as yours, given the "speech" at the bottom. The "speech" at the bottom of the page, however, is only 3 SENTENCES long. Please click on the link above and see what exactly the speech requires you to do (3-paragraphs)!

Providence has presented Italy with Victor Emmanuel. Every Italian should rally round him. By the side of Victor Emmanuel every quarrel should be forgotten, all rancor depart. Once more I repeat my battle-cry: "To arms, all-all of you!" If March, 1861, does not find one million of Italians in arms, then alas for liberty, alas for the life of Italy. Ah, no, far be from me a thought which I loathe like poison. March of 1861, or if need be February, will find us all at our post-Italians of Calatafimi, Palermo, Ancona, the Volturno, Castelfidardo, and Isernia, and with us every man of this land who is not a coward or a slave. Let all of us rally round the glorious hero of Palestro and give the last blow to the crumbling edifice of tyranny. Receive, then, my gallant young volunteers, at the honored conclusion of ten battles, one word of farewell from me.
I utter this word with deepest affection and from the very bottom of my heart. Today I am obliged to retire, but for a few days only. The hour of battle will find me with you again, by the side of the champions of Italian liberty. Let those only return to their homes who are called by the imperative duties which they owe to their families, and those who by their glorious wounds have deserved the credit of their country. These, indeed, will serve Italy in their homes by their counsel, by the very aspect of the scars which adorn their youthful brows. Apart from these, let all others remain to guard our glorious banners. We shall meet again before long to march together to the redemption of our brothers who are still slaves of the stranger. We shall meet again before long to march to new triumphs.
